First on a ranking does not mean best for you: four questions to ask
Before studying a strategy ranking, check its sort metric, sample, data source and freshness.

A ranking first answers: sorted by what?
“First” is not a conclusion without context. Niubang offers views such as recommended, score, monthly return, total return, low drawdown, win rate, followers, longevity and potential. The order you see depends first on the selected metric and type filter. Change the sort and the first card may change.
MetaTrader 5's official signal documentation also places growth, drawdown and lifetime in performance reports, and supports filters such as growth, weeks, subscribers and funds. That illustrates what rankings are for: narrowing a list, not deciding whether an account fits your risk and execution conditions.
Read four fields together
First record the sort and filter: return, low drawdown or score, and EA, trader or all. Second record the sample: start date, track-record length, trade count and whether there are open positions. A percentage without a sample period says little about the market conditions it covers.
Third check the source and verification status: an account-level read-only connection, a public platform record or publisher-supplied data, followed by the latest update. Fourth confirm that the record belongs to the strategy you are reviewing and look for migrations, gaps or missing fields. A verification label describes the checks performed; it is not a promise about quality or future returns.
A three-minute check from card to detail
Open the Niubang strategy rankings and write down the type and sort at the top before looking at a result. Do not keep only a screenshot of the “first” card. Pick two or three records and compare them under the same filter: drawdown, track-record length, trade count, open positions, source, verification and freshness.
Open each detail page and ask: who supplied this data? When was it last updated? What period do the return and drawdown cover? Mark an undisplayed field as “unknown”; do not turn a blank into zero. If a record is stale, treat freshness as an open question before treating its rank as meaningful.
After the ranking, check fit
After screening, return to Niubang's drawdown and sample guide to understand balance, equity and maximum drawdown. Next time, keep at least these three lines: sort condition, data update time and verification status. When you revisit a strategy, you can tell whether the data changed, the filter changed or your conclusion needs revisiting. Historical data cannot guarantee future results; decide whether to continue based on the completeness of the record and your own conditions.
