How to install and use an MT5 copy trading EA: NB Copy Engine as an example
An MT5 copy trading EA is a program that runs on a MetaTrader 5 chart and copies trades from a master account to copy accounts. Using NB Copy Engine from Niubang as the example, this guide covers installation, the WebRequest setting, login, master accounts, copy accounts and daily checks.

What an MT5 copy trading EA is
An MT5 copy trading EA is a program that runs on a MetaTrader 5 chart and copies trades from one account (the master account) to one or more other accounts (copy accounts). There are two common designs: the EA reads signals and places orders inside the local terminal, which must stay open; or the EA only handles setup and monitoring while the copying is executed on a server.
NB Copy Engine uses the second design. It is the MT5 copy trading EA from Niubang (niubang.ai); it places no orders locally and copying is executed in the Niubang cloud, so copying you have started keeps running after you close MT5 or your computer. Niubang describes it as a “Cross-platform · Millisecond-level copy trading EA”. Cross-platform means cross-broker: MT5 accounts at different brokers can copy each other, and MT4 is not supported.
Millisecond-level refers to order placement: Copying is triggered the moment the master trade fills, with millisecond-level order placement in the cloud. Actual execution speed depends on broker servers, the network and liquidity.
Before you install
You need the MT5 desktop terminal (the MT5 mobile apps cannot run EAs) and a Niubang account with a verified email before you start copying. The EA needs no DLL. The installation file is NB跟单引擎.ex5, available on the NB Copy Engine page and in the quick tutorial. The current version, file size and release date sit next to the download button, and the NB Copy Engine page also lists the SHA-256 checksum so you can verify the file.
Decide on your role first. To let others copy your account, list it as a master account using its read-only (investor) password. To copy someone else's strategy, add a copy account using its trading password. You can do both in the same panel, but an MT account that is currently copying cannot also be listed as a master account.
Five steps to install
Step one, the file: in MT5 choose “File → Open Data Folder”, put NB跟单引擎.ex5 into MQL5 → Experts, then right-click “Expert Advisors” in the Navigator and choose “Refresh”.
Step two, allow the website: choose “Tools → Options → Expert Advisors”, tick “Allow WebRequest for listed URL” and add https://www.niubang.ai. The www is required.
Step three, attach it to a chart: drag “NB跟单引擎” from the Navigator onto any chart and click OK. If you had an older version, remove it from the chart first.
Step four, log in or sign up: log in with your Niubang website email and password (not your MT5 login), or sign up in the panel with the 6-digit code sent to your email. If you registered with a phone number, create a control token under Studio terminal on the website and enter it in the EA input InpControllerToken.
Step five, list or copy: to become a signal source, list the account on the Master accounts tab with its read-only password. To copy, tap “+ 添加” (Add) on the Copy accounts tab, pick a signal source, set the lot multiplier, enter the trading password and tap “开始跟单” (Start copying). The cloud checks the connection in about a minute.
After setup: monitoring and control
The Copy accounts list shows each account's status, positions and floating P/L. Green (copying, ready) is normal; gold (checking the connection, awaiting provider approval) usually just needs a moment; red (connection failed, pre-check failed, symbol cannot be executed) needs attention; grey means paused.
The panel and My copy trading on the website read the same data, so changes show on the other side within about 10 seconds. Open an account to pause, resume, catch up, close positions or change lots. Pausing first closes the copied positions in that account, and resuming copies only new signals. Catching up opens the master's current positions at the current market price, so prices can differ from the master. Trades you opened yourself are never touched.
To change strategy, tap “切换” (Switch) on the signal source card and confirm. All your copy accounts move together: copied positions from the old source are closed first, then only new trades from the new strategy are copied.
Three common mistakes
Mistake one: thinking MT5 must stay open. Copying runs in the cloud and the panel only handles setup and monitoring, so closing the terminal does not stop copying you have started.
Mistake two: entering the wrong password. List a master account with the read-only password and add a copy account with the trading password; a copy account submitted with a read-only password is rejected. The related guide below explains the two passwords.
Mistake three: expecting identical fill prices. Copy accounts use market orders, and brokers differ in quotes, spreads and liquidity, so fill prices can differ. Copying does not mean identical returns.
Copy trading involves risk, and a strategy's past performance does not guarantee future returns.
